AMPED celebrates first year at energy efficient downtown building!

We were thrilled to celebrate success over the past year surrounded by community leaders and electrification advocates!

For those of you who are new to the AMPED: Go All Electric initiative, our campaign is a partnership of 20+ local institutions representing over 10 sectors promoting beneficial electrification throughout the 9-county Genesee/Finger Lakes region.

And we have a lot to celebrate including:

  • the ever growing landscape of local electrification projects, showing how electrification is not only possible, but happening in our area

  • our expanding inventory of case studies sharing project details, benefits, and best practices from our own community (check out a few here and here)

  • our webinar series that makes accessible broad and deep expertise on electric technologies, policy, incentives, and practical learning to show how we all win when we Go All Electric (get caught up on previous webinars here)

  • AMPED’s social platforms where we share how residents and businesses are benefitting (and saving money!) when they switch to electric, and how you can too

Our celebration brought together long-time AMPED volunteers, steering committee members, trusted partners, organizations with a similar mission, and community members just interested in seeing what all the fuss is about.

Attendees were treated to a private tour of a new Dutton Properties development on Rochester’s E. Main Street, which included an inside look at the implementation of an extensive geothermal heat pump system. The benefits of this system, including significantly reduced utility costs, will be available for the future residential and commercial users of the building.

Gathered in a historic building that uses the latest technology to tap into the energy in the earth, individuals from nonprofits, for-profit businesses, and local government came together with contagious enthusiasm about the potential for a clean energy transition in our region.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Dutton Properties for hosting and providing tours, to our funders Greater Rochester Clean Cities and the Climate Solutions Accelerator the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, to our tablers from RG&E, Rochester District Heating, and EMCOR Betlem Services, and the dedicated members of our steering committee without whom this work just wouldn’t be possible.
